Through all their travels this client’s heart was captivated by the beach homes of Savannah
and Charleston.

Home Story: Many trips with friends to South Carolina beach communities and local Clearwater haunts provided the inspiration for this family’s coastal style dream home. True to its roots, this home is a masterpiece of livable comfort and understated elegance.

Challenges & Points of Interest: To say that the trees influenced this home’s layout would be an understatement. The perfect lot for this home came with a zigzag of majestic oaks demanding respect in setbacks from their roots as well as attention to their various limb heights. A true collaborative effort between the architect, builder and client was necessary to preserve the design, tend to the trees, stay on schedule and remain within budget.

Home Story:
Peter and Mark are always keenly  aware of their clients’ desires. This elegant  home encompassed many of the often  requested features including a
3-car  garage, downstairs master bedroom,  Brazilian cherry hardwood floors and  French patterned travertine throughout.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
Working with the Homeowners  Association,
the partners were careful to  create a home
in keeping with the scale  and feel of the
existing neighborhood.

Palma Ceia – Craftsman

When the family moves out.

3,500 sq. ft.

Home Story:
Another referral brought us together with this family who had already formulated their dream home design. They were currently living in the 1940’s house that would need to be demolished making way for their new home. Time to move out. The family was transplanted for a short time, but found their ex-home’s evolution exciting.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
This home’s craftsman style is the only ‘old world’ thing about it. High energy efficiency is evident everywhere from the windows, insulation and AC system to the tankless water heater. No energy-sapping devices allowed. Conversely, old-world artisan skill was necessary to hand-stain the ebony colored hardwood floors. This unforgiving process yielded a stunning backdrop to the family’s casual contemporary furniture.

Hyde Park – Craftsman

Duplex;  3,000 sq. ft.

Home Story:
It can be a daunting task to remain  distinctive while blending in to your  surroundings. Such is the task of a new  home in an Historic Preservation District.  This duplex succeeds on all levels,  pleasing the
client, neighbors and  neighborhood, as well
as the  Architectural Review Commission.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
No matter how you slice it, home  construction is
not invisible. Once  started you definitely have a presence  in a neighborhood for several months.  
The trick on this project was to try to  remain on schedule and budget while  working within the confines of a busy,  densely populated 1920’s neighborhood  complete with narrow streets,
limited  parking, extensive foot traffic, and all  
under the watchful eyes of concerned  residents
plus a Review Board.  Perseverance led to success.

Sunset Park – Mediterranean

4,710 sq. ft.

Home Story:
Peter and Mark bought this wide lot within hours of it coming on the market. The lot’s width allowed for a design that encompassed a grand foyer and staircase, downstairs master, upstairs game room and laundry rooms on both levels.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
When is a creek a creek and a ditch a ditch? Jurisdictional wetland issues regarding an area next to the property were resolved by the partners and the project sped ahead.

Project Style: Spanish Revival
Size: 5 bedrooms; 5.5 bathrooms;  4,400 sq. ft.

Home Story:
This home is an original design  from partners Peter and Mark. Highlights  from years of client wish lists were  incorporated into every facet of the  plans. From the functional mudroom  and state-of-the-art home theater to  finishes of hardwoods and stone,  no wish went unfulfilled.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
By implementing a gradual rise to the  grade of the land, we were able to  comply with flood elevation restrictions  in a visually appealing manner.

Project Style: Traditional Mediterranean
Size: 5 bedrooms; 4.5 bathrooms;
4,337 sq. ft.

Home Story:
Drawing on their years of experience, Peter and Mark distilled the most popular features from previous homes they built to design this
two-story home. Careful listening and attention
to detail certainly paid off as this home was
an instant success.

Challenges & Points of Interest:
The home design had to fit the confines of a narrow lot and fulfill strict flood code requirements by building the first floor five feet up from ground level.
